SAP Center at San Jose has been the home of the San Jose Sharks since it opened in 1993 as the San Jose Arena, and is affectionately nicknamed "The Shark Tank" by fans. Its pregame tradition, in which the team emerges from a giant shark head that appears to "bite" through the boards amid fog and lights, is one of the NHL's most distinctive entrances.
