Notre Dame Stadium has been the home of the Fighting Irish since 1930, built at the urging of legendary coach Knute Rockne — who died in a plane crash the following year — and modeled architecturally after Michigan Stadium. It overlooks the iconic "Touchdown Jesus" mural on the adjacent Hesburgh Library, visible above the north end zone stands.
